Global NAPs, Inc. v. Verizon Communications et al. (Violation of Merger Order)

On February 21, 2002, the Federal Communications Commission ruled that Verizon violated the Communications Act of 1934 by refusing to permit Global NAPs to opt into certain provisions of an interconnection agreement in accordance with a condition of the FCC’s approval of the merger application of Bell Atlantic and GTE. The FCC denied Global NAPs’ claim for damages because such claim was premature.
