Violation of Dredging Permit (Virginia)
In January 2000, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality issued a permit to Honeywell for dredging to provide adequate river depth for one of the company’s structures. Honeywell allegedly failed to inform the DEQ that solids in the river exceeded the permit’s provisions. According to a consent decree, Honeywell agreed to pay a civil charge of $12,000.
