Poor Performance on Iraq Reconstruction Work
The Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) found that Parsons failed to properly oversee subcontractors and lacked project controls and standards of conduct on contracts awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. According to SIGIR, Parsons failed to meet contract specifications on 13 of 14 construction projects. As a result of the SIGIR report, in March 2007 the Army commenced an administrative inquiry into the allegations substandard work and asked Parsons to show cause why it should not be proposed for debarment. According to the company, “Parsons cooperated fully with the Army’s request and in all follow-up questions asked by the Army.”
