Bellifemine v. Sanofi-Aventis (Gender Discrimination)
A lawsuit filed in March 2007 alleging Sanofi-Aventis discriminated against one of its female employees was expanded in August 2007 to include thousands of current and former female employees around the country who might have experienced discriminatory treatment in salary and hiring and promotion, and a hostile work environment. In 2009, Sanofi-Aventis settled the lawsuit, agreeing to pay $15,360,000 to a class consisting of sales employees hired in the United States between May 12, 2005 and March 23, 2010.
