OSHA Violations (Saipan)
A 2002 safety inspection by the Department of Labor Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) at an ECC project site in Saipan found two serious violations. According to the inspection records: “The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were accidentally exposed to the hazard of fine dust at high temperatures.” OSHA assessed a $4,500 penalty for each violation.
