Fisherman’s Wharf Pollution

San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera sued Exxon Mobil Oil Corp. to clean up pollution from a former fueling facility at Fisherman’s Wharf along the San Francisco Bay. The city claims that petroleum products produced by Exxon Mobil’s predecessor companies from approximately 1938 until 1992 contaminated the soil and groundwater at the site and that Exxon Mobil is in violation of a 1994 agreement to clean up the site.
